Fear of loneliness

But I think the most frightening, um, and nervous thing about aging is the loneliness it can be.

Desire for independence

You know, even with a partner, even with, um, family around you or friends, you know, um, as human beings, we still want that independence and we still want, um, to take care of ourselves.

Loss of control

Um, but I think having to give over that control is a little bit, uh, scary.

Fear of losing independence

Um, it's a lot scary actually, and in my opinion, it's more scarier than death because, you know, death is very certain, but, you know, independence, um, and being able to control that to some degree, it varies from person to person.

Variability in aging

While some people are 80 walking around, still doing whatever they can, you know, there were some who are 80 and in a home and have no idea what's going on.

Fear of losing self-care

Um, so that I think is the scariest part is losing that control, that independence, and be able to take care of yourself.
